Sudan Campaign ressources

An' 'ere's ~to~ you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, with your 'ayrick 'ead of 'air —
You big black boundin' beggar — for you broke a British square!

The failed campaign of 1884 and 1885 in the Sudan to relieve Khartoum, along with the operations around Suakin, has tickled my fancy ever since Peter Gilder gave us those very inspirational articles in the first issues of Wargames World.

What's not to like about a theatre that offers camel-mounted Guards, makeshift gunboats, Fuzzy-Wuzzys and Victorian egoes that would make the Donald look positively tame?

Below is a series of links to period books which can be found as PDFs on the Internet Archives website. Also included are two recent academic works that, as such, are freely available, but this should not prevent you from buying the corresponding books.
